(Posted November 13, 2024) To support University of Oregon students during winter break, LGBTESS and the Basic Needs Program are partnering to provide grocery store gift cards to Eugene-enrolled students staying in Eugene/Springfield and UO Portland students staying in Portland during the break. Eligible students will receive one $50 e-gift card that can be used to purchase groceries from a grocery store of your choice while funding lasts. Possible grocery stores include Safeway/Albertsons and Whole Foods.
To qualify, you must be a current UO student attending the Eugene campus and planning to stay in Eugene/Springfield, or a current UO student attending the Portland campus planning to stay in Portland for at least two weeks (or fourteen days) over the 2024 winter break. Winter break is from December 14, 2024, to January 5, 2025. You do not need to be in Eugene/Springfield or Portland for fourteen consecutive days to qualify.
Funding will be prioritized for students experiencing food insecurity and/or who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
The application will close at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, December 2. Notifications about the status of applications will be sent out by December 9.
