Fitness and Recreation
Beyond the Fee Rec Program Waiver (pilot program)
Have you wanted to participate in some activities at the Student Recreation Center, but the cost was a barrier? The Beyond the Fee Rec Program Waiver supports students who are facing financial challenges with access to the following Rec programs:
- Intramural sports
- Group X fitness classes
- Personal training
Participation in these programs requires a fee which could be a barrier to participation. The goal is to remove this barrier for a limited number of students via an application process. Once approved the funding amount will be applied to each student’s account. This program is intended to support your well-being, so that you can meet your academic goals.
Qualification requirements:
- Must be a full-time student in spring term 2025
- Can only benefit from the program one time a year
- Undergraduate and graduate students may apply
This is a collaboration between the Basic Needs Program and the Department of Physical Education and Recreation. Fill out the Basic Needs Assistance Form to apply. A staff member from the Rec will then contact qualified applicants.

Menstrual Care
Restrooms across the University of Oregon campuses offer menstrual hygiene products readily available to our community. Dispensers can be found in almost all restrooms, regardless of gender, and supplies are free.
Menstrual hygiene is recognized as a public health issue. In 2021, the Oregon Legislature passed House Bill 3294, the Menstrual Dignity Act, to alleviate some of the economic strain and experiences of shame that often are barriers for menstruating students accessing their education.
For more information about the state Menstrual Dignity for Students Program, go to the State of Oregon website and scroll to the bottom of the page.
