Application Open for 2025–26 UO Childcare Subsidy

(Posted July 7, 2025) The UO Childcare Subsidy application for the 2025–26 academic year is now open and will be available through June 30, 2026.

This student fee-funded program provides financial assistance to eligible student parents to help ease the cost of childcare. Eligibility is based on current enrollment. It is available to all UO students, including international students. Learn more on the Eligibility Guidelines page.

Many changes have been implemented for the 2025–26 program year to make UO Childcare Subsidy processes easier to navigate and to reimburse participants for additional childcare expenses.

Changes for 2025–26

  • The income qualification requirement has been removed. Nearly all parenting UO students meet the previous requirements, and the Basic Needs Program determined that it added unnecessary difficulty for student applicants and for staff processing the applications.
  • Monthly reimbursement maximums have increased significantly. They are now indexed to 50% of full-cost childcare in the community, rather than the subsidized rates that enrolled students pay at Moss Street Children’s Center and Co-Op Family Center. This change improves equity for students who are unable to enroll their children in a UO-affiliated childcare center or who choose a different provider. The rates for children in kindergarten through 12 years of age have increased more than the others because they are now intended to cover 50% of most invoices for full-time summer childcare. They were previously set based on reimbursing only after-school expenses. The maximums are evaluated every year.
