Nonprofit Housing Providers
Nonprofit large residences that are also living/learning communities for students who share a common creed, background, or outlook. Usually a house with multiple rooms where people can live in a single or a double (with a roommate). There may be events that take place in the house and its shared spaces depending on the community’s purpose. A nonprofit house might be the right fit for you if:
- You want to live with a group of people in a community where you have something in common.
- You are comfortable with sharing spaces with other residents and following house rules.
- You have time and interest to participate in activities with housemates.
- You don’t have a car and want to live close to campus.
- You are seeking lower rent.

Single-family homes that are generally more than one level and share walls with other units, offering a balance of amenities and affordability. They usually have more than one bedroom. A townhome may be the right fit for you if:
- You are searching for a place for you and your family or a group of people to share housing with.
- You are seeking features like a balance of privacy and proximity to neighbors, customization, low maintenance (you may pay a homeowners association to maintain the grounds), and a garage.
- You are seeking a lower price or shorter commute to campus compared to a single-family home (not always the case).
